Professional Portrait & Commercial Photographer

Classic and intimate with a dash of contemporary flair; Rick Bay reinterprets 20th century aesthetics by condensing them down to a simple and elegant frame with the glow of natural light. He enjoys the challenge of filtering individual and brand stories through the lens of his camera, and distilling unique, compelling, beautiful, and engaging imagery. Rick is most known for his cinematic lighting and preference for shadowy pastels.

Born in the blue Rocky Mountains of Colorado and raised in the shady Silicon Valley of California, Rick learned to photograph on a hand-me-down Nikon F which his mother gifted him. After high school, he attended the University of Colorado, Boulder where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and Cinema Production. He now shoots out of Los Angeles, where he lives with his wife of three years.

Rick enjoys driving his old beat-up truck, watching classic movies, and cooking for his family. After a long shoot day, you’ll most likely find him at Monsieur Marcel enjoying a steak-frites, cooked rare.

Brands he’s worked with:
Premiere Lacrosse League, Classic Iterations, The Grand Voyage, En Masse, Lift Kits, Fxck Cancer, and more.
